ABOUT

Meet Julia Hatfield, a Texas-born singer/songwriter whose passion lies in crafting honest, heartfelt music within the Americana tradition. With over a decade of experience, she has built a reputation for blending timeless storytelling with melodies that connect on a personal level. For Julia, songwriting isn’t about chasing trends—it’s about creating something real and lasting.

Over the past decade, she has steadily carved out her place in the industry, combining a genuine love for storytelling with a passion for creating music that resonates.

Her journey began early, writing her first songs at thirteen and earning recognition as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition at just fourteen. Inspired by the storytelling of Dolly Parton, the honesty of Guy Clark, and the timeless energy of artists like Michael Jackson, Julia’s music reflects a blend of influences that she’s made uniquely her own.

While accolades like the Texas Regional Radio Awards’ “2018 New Female Vocalist of the Year” and four Top 50 singles are milestones she’s proud of, Julia remains grounded in her belief that music is about connection. For her, songwriting is a way to bridge life’s joys, struggles, and truths—something she aims to share with every lyric.

Julia’s work extends beyond her own songs. Her cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down” was featured in the Reelz documentary Won’t Back Down, and her Women Crush Wednesdays interview series, created in partnership with Luckenbach, TX, shines a light on the experiences of women in country music in hopes of generating a dialogue within the industry.

Most recently, Julia has been collaborating with producers Khari Mateen and Jody Bartula to record a slate of new singles that have been released throughout 2024. Julia’s latest single, “Opinions,” reflects on the wisdom and unity of America’s “Greatest Generation,” inspired by her grandfather, WWII pilot Lieutenant Colonel Hugh Hatfield. With its nostalgic tone, the song questions whether today’s polarized world can recapture the resilience and values that once brought people together.

While Julia has had the honor of sharing stages with artists like Parker McCollum, Crystal Gayle, Gary P. Nunn, and Jaret Ray Reddick, she views her career not as a collection of accomplishments but as a continuous journey to connect with others through her music.

Her straightforward, thoughtful approach to songwriting and performing has made her someone to watch, not because of flashy moments, but because of her consistent dedication to the craft. Julia Hatfield isn’t chasing fame—she’s simply sharing her story, one song at a time.

To write is too high a calling to be anything but authentic and I feel that is the common denominator in what I’ve created the past 12 years.
