New single
“Opinions” couldn’t come at a better time.
At its heart, it’s about the absence of wisdom and unity once embodied by America’s “Greatest Generation.” In a time where polarization and uncertainty seem to dominate, it’s a longing for the steady guidance and resilience of those who lived through war, economic hardship, and the fight for a better future, such as her grandfather, Lieutenant Colonel Hugh Hatfield, who appears on the single’s cover.
“My Papa was a wise man. He was raised by a single mother (Julia) during the Great Depression and flew a P-38 Lightning in WWII. There is something so authentically American about that generation. People stood for something.”
With the heat of the upcoming election, “Opinions” evokes a sense of nostalgia for the values of the people that once held us together, while posing the question: can we make this work without them?

“To write is too high a calling to be anything but authentic and I feel that is the common denominator in what I’ve created the past 12 years.”
